History

Legend is that Surya Bagawan to wash off his sins from Bramha Dosham worshipped Lord Shiva here by installing a Linga under a Vanni Tree after taking bath at Surya Theertham. Lord Shiva gave dharshan to Surya washed off his dosham and Linga here is called as Iraveeswarar in the name of Surya Bagawan. Saint Vyas came to know about this temple, visited, stayed here and sung song on Iraveeswarar. Thus this place is called as "Vyasar Paadi". |
