Legend here is Furious Lord Shiva after killing His father-in-law Dakshan by posing Him as Lord Veerabadhrar, can to this place which was previous full of Betel leaves. The smell of leaves vanished His furious and stood calm here. Lordess Dakshayani requested Lord Veerabadhrar to forgive Her father and got Her father live. Dakshan felt sorry for the sins he committed and requested that he is to be blessed with seeing the marriage of his daughter. Lordess Dakshayani assumed here as Lordess Abayambikai and got married to Lord Veerabhadrar here in the Tamil Month of Panguni on Star Uthram. |
