About Padmanabha
As Lord bears the Lotus in His navel and shines like the sun in the hearts of His devotees, He is called 'Padmanabhaa'.
He holds the Lotus and Disc in His upper left and right hands, and the Club and Conch in His lower left and right hands.
He is the governing power of the letter 'De' of the Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'Va' of the Mahamantra, 'Pani Tattva' — one of the 24 Tattvas — and the Urdhvapundra marked on the left side of the throat. He is the custodian of the dish prepared with vegetables, the lunar month of 'Asvayuja' and 'Kumbharasi'.
He dwells in the 'Purnanaadi'. He is to be meditated upon while going to sleep.
