As Lord destroys the demons like Madhu,Kavitabha, Hayagriva etc., who dwells in the ocean and cause troubles to gods, as He frees the souls from re-birth, and gives liberation, as He is without birth, as He removes the worldly sufferings and as He can be attained by the beings of Virtues, He is called 'Janardana'. He will be holding Disc and Conch on the upper left and right hands and Club and Lotus on the lower left and right hands. He is the Governing power of the  letter 'Pra' of Gayathri Mantra, 'Vayu Tattva'  one of the 24 Tattvas and Urdhvapundra marked on the left side of the abdomen during the dark half of the lunar month , salt and south west quarter.
