About Hrsikesa
As Lord is the governor of all the senses and as He grants bliss to Rama, Brahma, Rudra and others, He is called 'Hrsikesaa'.
He holds the Disc and Lotus in His upper left and right hands, and the Conch and Club in His lower left and right hands.
He is the governing power of the letter 'RGO' of the Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'De' of the Mahamantra, 'Vak Tattva' — one of the 24 Tattvas — and the Urdhvapundra marked on the left shoulder during the light half of the lunar month. He is the custodian of the dish prepared from greens, the lunar month of 'Bhadrapada' and 'Makararasi'.
He dwells in the 'Kuhunaadi'.
