As Lord has the rope around His belly tied by Yasodha, as he plays with the sages who have control over their senses, as He gives happiness to generous people, as He causes sorrow to demons and as He plays with the people who have compassion, He is called 'Damodharaa'. He will be holding Conch and Club on the upper left and right hands and Disc  and Lotus on the lower left and right hands. He is the Governing power of the  letter 'Va' of Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'Ya' of Mahamantra, 'Padha Tattva'  one of the 24 Tattvas and Urdhvapundra marked on the neck. He is the custodian of all kinds of sour substances, lunar month of 'Karttika'  and 'Meenarasi'. He dwells in the "Varuninaadi".
