On Bilva's request, Indra said whenever you think of the thunderbolt, it will be with you. Bilva happily ruled the earth. During this period Kapil Muni and King Bilva became friends. Once during a religious conversation, both of the started quarreling. King Bilva worshipped Lord Vishnu and got a Boon that Kapil should obey him. Lord Vishnu granted the boon and met Kapil and asked him to budge. Kapil refused. As per the Instruction of Indra, King Bilva had darshan of Shivling situated in the west direction in Mahakal forest and finally Kapil agreed to obey King Bilva. This shivlinga was named as Bilveshwar as it was worshipped by King Bilva. |
