Once, Goddess Parvathi said to Lord Shiva that he developed the world, creation and so on and all the people are worshipping him. For this, Lord Shiva replied that during destruction in Mahakal forest, he was there as a Shivalinga named Mahalayeshwar. All the creations were developed by him and they started worshipping him. Whoever worships this Linga, will be victorious in all his works.
