Once, Lord Shiva joked that Parvathi was Mahakali. Goddess Parvathi got angry and started to quarrel. Lord Shiva tried to pacify her by saying that he was kidding. Their quarrel got transformed into a big war. Due to this, all the Devas panicked. Due to that fight, the Earth broke and from that emerged a Shivalinga which created a melodious sound. The Devas named it as Kalkaleshwar. Whoever worships this Linga, will be free from enemies
