In olden days, there was a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva whose name was Dhund. But he was not a man of good conduct. One day, he reached the abode of Lord Indra. There, he saw the celestial nymph Rambha dancing and was attracted by her beauty. Lord Indra cursed him and he was sent back to the Earth. Dhund repented for this. He went to many holy places for the remedy, but was not successful. He heard the celestial voice stating that, he should go and worship the Shivalinga present near Pisachmukteswar in Mahakal forest. Lord Shiva was happy and freed him of all his sins and Dhund reached Mt.Kailash. When we worship this Linga, all our sins will vanish and we will get the benefit of doing a Surya Yagna.
