Bhoodevi took the name of Sriperai and meditated on the astaksharam as per Durvasa muni .Bhoodevi noticed 2 pots on the day of panguni pournami near the banks of Thamabharani which were in the shape of a fish and offered it to the lord.Also Varuna obtained salvation from a curse by performing thirumanjanam on panguni pournami .The Maharaja of Vidharba prayed here and got rain and prosperity in his kingdom which was suffering from drought. |
